Time travelling with Andante – Leading archaeological holidays company Andante Travels (www.andantetravels.co.uk, 01722 713 800) has partnered with A-ROSA River Cruises to travel back in time.

A collection of enlightening river cruises for 2020 will take guests along the Rhine, Rhône and Danube in search of archaeological treasures at each port.

On the Rhône cruise, travellers will explore museums and sites in Lyon and Vienne, as well as famous sites in Provence, including the Pont du Gard, Nîmes and Arles. Additionally, we make a special visit to the unique replica cave of Chauvet II, which brings 36,000-year-old cave paintings to life.

During the Danube cruises, there will be excursions to the two capitals of Roman Pannonia, namely Carnuntum and Aquincum, which are located near Vienna and Budapest respectively.

The Rhine cruise includes a visit to the awe-inspiring cathedral at Cologne, the cathedral at Strasbourg the chance to admire the Chagall stained glass windows in the Mainz Cathedral.

Starting at just £1,629pp, this new range of cruises includes full daily excursion schedules as well as insightful evening lectures aboard the ships, opening up an enchanting world of river cruising to keen archaeology and history enthusiasts from all walks of life.
