Adventures in Andalusia with Almohalla 51

18th October 2016 By David Pike Leave a Comment

AndalusiaAdventures in Andalusia with Almohalla 51 – There’s more ways than one to turn on the heat in Spain.

Award-winning B&B Almohalla 51 has found a challenging substitute for the costas and coastlines of Andalusia.

It is offering guests the chance to climb Mulhacén, the highest mountain in the Iberian peninsula, on an exciting new activity break for 2017.

An English-speaking professional guide will lead walkers to the peak, which at 3,482 metres is the highest in Europe outside the Alps and Caucasus. Those attempting the tough yet straightforward ascent will be rewarded with possible sightings of Ibex and fabulous views across the roof of the Sierra Nevada.

Climbing Mulhacén is just one of a range of thrilling pursuits on offer in the new break, Andalucian Adventures, which also includes canyoning in the Guadalmina river, abseiling and climbing at La Cueva de las Grajas, caving in the Hoyo Conique system, and scaling the iron cables of the Via Ferrata at the famous gorge at Ronda.

AdalusiaThe activities, which range from two hours in length to a whole day trip, can be tailored to suit all levels of proficiency, for two to 10 participants, and will be available from spring to autumn.

The standard four-night break at Almohalla 51 starts at €300 (£260) per person, based on two sharing a standard room, and includes B&B accommodation, a choice of two activities, return transfers to the activity sites, private guides and full insurance.

Depending on the activity, time and destination, a stop at a local restaurant can be included. Tailored packages featuring more pursuits are available on request. All activities are subject to weather conditions, so only the room rate will be charged in the event of cancellation of an activity.

Almohalla 51 – which has appeared in TripAdvisor’s Top 20 Best B&Bs in Spain for the past three years – is a five-room guesthouse set across two renovated townhouses.

Guests also have access to comfortable communal areas, one with a woodburning stove, as well as shaded patios. One terrace has been put to use as a sunny setting for the fresh breakfasts of local produce, as well as a romantic spot for sundowners. The upper terrace has a pool with a sun terrace positioned to make the most of the views across the town to the surrounding countryside.
