The creators of Kynren – An Epic Tale of England have launched a nationwide search for the UK’s top stunt and performance talent.
They are wanted for the cast of The Storied Lands, a new live-action historical visitor attraction set to open in the County Durham live history theme park this summer.
The Storied Lands will bring 2,000 years of British history roaring to life through performance, storytelling and spectacular live action- featuring five spectacular live-action shows including a Medieval horse spectacular, an epic new Viking show, and a Victorian Adventure featuring larger-than-life characters from the past.
The Legend of the Wear will transform a vast lake into the stage for the Lambton Worm myth, brought to life with daring water stunts and stunning special effects.
Future phases are being planned that will expand the park at Bishop Auckland even further, with new shows, educational content, and themed experiences inspired by legendary tales such as Robin Hood, Excalibur, and the Tudors.
Organisers are now seeking experienced actors, acrobats, stunt performers, and physical theatre specialists, along with equestrian experts and trick-riders, to star in large-scale outdoor productions.
The team is also looking for performers with specialist skills such as sword-fighting, fire-juggling, stage combat, and traditional crafts including blacksmithing and woodworking reflecting the project’s unique blend of historical authenticity and dramatic spectacle.
Anna Warnecke, CEO of Kynren, said: “This recruitment drive is about investing in skills, creating opportunities and showcasing what the North East and the wider UK can achieve to an international audience.
“At a time when the tourism industry faces serious challenges, The Storied Lands represents a story of optimism, creativity and growth,” she said.
