Rising to the occasion at Brightwater Holidays

31st March 2023 By Chris Pike Leave a Comment

Award-winning Scottish tour specialist Brightwater Holidays is serving up an extra treat in June as part of its popular Grand Tour of the Outer Hebrides.

The company has teamed up with Coinneach MacLeod, aka the Hebridean Baker, who will host an ‘Evening With’ exclusively for guests on the six-day trip leaving on June 13.

Coinneach rose to fame under the guise of the Hebridean Baker on TikTok in 2020 and has since amassed over 250,000 followers on the platform along with 100,000 followers on Instagram.

He has sold out a forthcoming North American book tour with the release of his second cookbook, My Scottish Island Kitchen, and his highly anticipated third cookbook, entitled Hebridean Baker: At Home, will be released in the UK this coming October.

Coinneach will share his love of foods of the islands along with unique recipes, myths and legends of the Hebrides, and personal anecdotes of life growing up there.

The evening promises to be an intimate and very entertaining with Gaelic songs sung by Coinneach himself, bringing to life the sights and sounds of the islands that guests will go on to discover for themselves over the coming days on this best-selling six-day tour.

Coinneach said: “I am so excited to partner with Brightwater Holidays and share my passion for the Outer Hebrides with their guests. I was born and raised on the Isle of Lewis and look forward to inspiring those on the tour with our unique culture, history, language, and food – oh and maybe a Gaelic song or two as well!”

Brightwater’s June 13 departure of its six-day Grand Tour of the Outer Hebrides includes free coach pick-ups from Perth, Kinross, Dunfermline, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The price for the tour starts from £1,295pp and highlights range from a tour of the Isle of Harris distillery and a visit to the area’s archaeological hotspots, that include the 5,000-year-old Standing Stones of Callanish and the Norse Mill at Shawbost.

Guests will also visit the stunning beach at  Luskentyre, Lews Castle and Museum, and the historic St. Clement’s Church at Rodel.
