A breath of fresh air from Specialist Journeys – Is it safe to come out yet?

The answer is a resounding yes from a tourism and hospitality sector that is going the extra mile to guarantee safety with pleasure.

And there are some great offers around.

Specialist Journeys brands Andante Travels and Brightwater Holidays have launched a £0 deposit initiative for their remaining 2020 holiday departures.

Guests looking to get away before the end of the year, and booking before August 3, will be able to secure their place on any 2020 holiday without paying a penny.

On August 3rd, bookers will then be obliged to make their full deposit payment or to pay the full balance 42 days (instead of the usual 84 days) prior to departure – whichever is sooner.

If they wish to cancel their trip with either company at this point, there will be absolutely no charge to do so.

Both Andante Travels (https://andantetravels.co.uk/keeping-you-safe/) and Brightwater Holidays (www.brightwaterholidays.com/keeping-you-safe) recently unveiled an industry-leading programme in response to the COVID-19 crisis designed help guests to get back out into world safely and with confidence.

The choices on offer from Andante are the perfect antidote to lockdown.

Pompeii, Herculaneum & Classical Campania: An eight-day flagship tour that takes guests to the enthralling archaeological site of Pompeii in the company of expert guides who know its secrets, history and stories. Many of them have personally excavated at Pompeii and the visit include private visits to the Theatre of Herculaneum, the store rooms of the Paestum Museum (off-limits to the public) and to the Grotto of Sejanus.

Elsewhere, guests will climb Vesuvius (it’s a fairly gently walk, most of the journey is by coach), visit Naples’ Archaeological Museum and visit amazing villas at Stabiae and take a tour of Pozzuoli’s amazing amphitheatre. https://andantetravels.co.uk/tours/worldwide-escorted-tours/pompeii-herculaneum-and-classical-campania/nov-09-2020/

Historical Highlights of Dalmatia: A cruise aboard the superb M/S Equator that visits seven islands, each with its own character and attractions, from the beautiful bays and beaches of Brač and Elaphiti to the perfectly-preserved Gothic towns of Hvar and Korčula. Guests will enjoy a walking tour of Dubrovnik, witness the luminescent natural phenomenon known as the Blue Cave, and explore Diocletian’s Palace in Split. https://andantetravels.co.uk/tours/ocean-cruise/historical-highlights-of-dalmatia/

Serbia – Land of the Iron Emperors: Perfect for archaeology lovers, this unique ‘off-the-beaten-track’ eight-day tour takes in a visit to Gamzigrad, Emperor Galerius’ retirement home; the medieval new town of Kruevac, built by the heroic but doomed Prince Lazar and the old town at Nis, a typical medieval trading city of the Balkans. https://andantetravels.co.uk/tours/worldwide-escorted-tours/serbia-land-of-the-iron-emperors/

Brightwater Holidays’ highlights include:

Tresco’s Abbey Garden: A four-day break to beautiful Tresco in Cornwall, where guests will enjoy time at the magnificent Abbey Garden. The garden here is home to more than 3,000 species and during the trip, guests will also have the option to visit other islands such as Bryher, St Martins, St Agnes and St Mary’s. https://www.brightwaterholidays.com/tours/garden-tours/trescos-abbey-gardens/

Villas & Gardens of the Italian Lakes: A charming eight-day holiday to Italy, which is based around the Gulf of Borromeo on Lake Maggiore and at the foot of Lake Como. Highlights include a visit to the private garden of the President of the Italian Camellia Society, a private tour with the owner of Villa Cicogna Mozzoni, and a trip to Isola Pescatori, the ‘island of fishermen’, with its narrow cobbled streets and pretty harbour.  https://www.brightwaterholidays.com/tours/garden-tours/villas-and-gardens-of-the-italian-lakes/sep-21-2020/
