The Costa Cálida region of Murcia has unveiled its first ever diving route, the ‘I RutaSub’.
The route consists of nine dives and aims to promote the five diving areas of the Costa Cálida, including the two protected marine reserves of Cabo de Palos-Islas Hormigas and Cabo Tiñoso.
The Region of Murcia has an extensive coastline, with seabeds that are great for recreational diving.
The new route is made up of three dives in Cabo de Palos, three in La Azohía, one in La Manga-Isla Grosa, one in Mazarrón and another in Águilas. It presents divers with the opportunity to explore and immerse themselves in a marine world of crystalline waters home to an abundance of magnificent species like groupers and corvina.
From easy dives in shallow waters to explorations of the numerous shipwrecks, the ‘I RutaSub’ is open to anyone who has a recreational diving certification that enables them to dive in accordance with current regulations.
Those that participate in the ‘I RutaSub’ will be given a card to keep track of their completed dives. Once the ‘I RutaSub’ is over, on December 31, 2022, a raffle will be held in January for those who completed all nine dives of diving computers and regulators, and diving vouchers.
The dives are priced from 33 euros each and include boat rental, diving guide, tank and weights. See more information on how to register here.
