Flashpacking: discovering the land down-under with Wild Kiwi

29th July 2019 By David Pike Leave a Comment

Flashpacking: discovering the land down-under with Wild Kiwi – Gone are the days when backpackers were limited to cheap accommodation and grungy public buses.

‘Flashpacking’ is the travel trend of the moment, swapping dingy digs for comfortable mattresses and cramped buses for kitted-out cruisers.

Specialising in this modern way of seeing the world, Wild Kiwi, organisers of epic adventure tours for 18-35-year-olds, has seen a 237% increase in bookings of flashpacking tours of New Zealand in 2019 compared to last year.

And, following the launch of its Australia tours in March 2019, they’re set for another bumper year as the adventure holiday trend grows.

Allowing flashpackers to experience a bucket list road trip without the downsides of independent travel on a budget, Wild Kiwi believe that travelling in style never goes out of fashion. “Our routes through New Zealand and Australia combine the excitement of a backpacking trip with the comfort of luxury travel and tried & tested accommodation,” said Daniel Painter, Managing Director of Wild Kiwi.

“Our dedicated professional guides are experts in local knowledge and help travellers experience the very best of the destination they’re exploring. After a fun day spent trekking through glaciers or surfing in Byron Bay, travellers are chauffeured to their next destination with cosy seats and unlimited Wi-Fi – so they can share all their favourite photos on social media as they go,” he added.

With ten unforgettable routes to choose from, Wild Kiwi has listed the top three reasons why flashpacking should replace plans to independently backpack around Australia or New Zealand for your next big adventure, as well as why smaller group flashpacking trumps larger and often crowded tour buses:

1  Travel in style

When you’re discovering some of the world’s most breath-taking views, you’ll want a vehicle that allows you to sit back and enjoy the landscape in a comfortable seat. Forget hours on a cramped coach and carrying your sleeping bag cross-country – guests with Wild Kiwi will cruise through incredible natural wonders in luxury leather seats, with that all-important air-con and expert professional guide on hand to point out all the must-see sites.

2  Meet like minded travellers

Travelling in smaller groups of 18 or less keeps your flashpacking adventure personal and much more fun! A flashpacking tour allows travellers to spend their bucket-list trip with like minded individuals who want to experience the same life changing adventure holiday.

3  Time for more destinations

With a professional guide ready to drive you to each destination, you can forget about having to leave early to catch a bus or train. On a flashpacking trip, a professional chauffeur will make sure you arrive in each location with plenty of time to spare.

From ancient glaciers and iconic film sets to the world’s most famous surfing spots, Wild Kiwi offers bucket list tours across New Zealand and Australia, lasting between six days to three weeks.

Prices for a seven-day road trip in New Zealand start at $1,199 NZD and prices for a six-day Australian tour along the east coast start at $959 AUD*. Included in all Wild Kiwi tours is an expert professional guide, daily transport, accommodation, a dinner at your guide’s favourite place, all breakfasts and a hit list of New Zealand and Australia’s most incredible spots.
